At JARC, we are committed to assisting adults with their personal and education goals. Our Adult Learners Program Services (ALPS) provides free tutoring to help individuals improve their reading, writing and math skills so they can secure better jobs, go further in their professions, and build upon what they already know in order to become better citizens.
Our students are here not only to improve their skills for work, but for their own personal enrichment. Through ALPS, students have worked on:
- Improving basic reading and math skills
- Preparing for the GED
- Learning English as a second language
- Improving conversation and writing skills
- Learning how to read
Through our literacy tutoring, pre-GED classes and life skills seminars, students gain the confidence and the ability to reach for goals previously beyond their expectations.
